lot of offers from various popular award function organisers, but she has always turned them down. So, The Dirty Picture’s music launch will see her hitting the stage for first time.
When contacted, Tanuj Garg, CEO, Balaji Motion Pictures, the producers of The Dirty Picture, confirms: “Yes, Vidya is going to perform on the hit song, ‘Ooh la la…’ but it won’t be a long performance. Other stars from the film will also perform in the course of the music launch.”
The Milan Luthria-directed The Dirty Picture’s music launch will take place on November 4 at Inorbit mall, Malad. “It’s going to be a unique event because it will be open for general public. Anyone and everyone can attend it. I can promise it won’t be a usual and run-of-the-mill event,” adds Tanuj.
In fact, makers are going all out to bring to life the colours and glitz of the bygone era. “It will be a colourful event with a lot of performances. The look is also going to be a surprise for fans. At the music launch, we are bringing alive the glamourous era of the ’80s,” he says.
Interestingly, Vidya will be hitting the stage in her famous bold dresses from the film. “Basically, our music launch will capture the theme of the film. All the characters, including Vidya, will be seen in the dresses they’ve worn in our movie. The idea is to give a glimpse of the movie’s setting,” says Tanuj.
Vidya’s character in the film is loosely modelled on the lines of southern sex symbol Silk Smitha. The producers have decided to dub the film in Tamil and Telugu too.
